The album holds the record for the longest stay at #1 on Billboard's 200 chart, staying at #1 for a non-consecutive 37 weeks. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Thriller is the world's all-time best selling album, with sales estimated at over 104 million copies. In the U.S, Thriller is the second best-selling album of all time with between 27-28 million copies sold. "Thriller" is ranked #20 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In 1990 it was ranked #7 on their list of the 100 greatest albums of the 1980s. In July 2006, "Thriller" was named the ninth biggest selling album in British history by the British Phonographic Industry.
